Hot Coco Mug and Spoon

The chilly temperature are here to stay awhile, so come warm up with us! Join us for a ceramic handbuilding workshop to make your very own Hot Coco Mug and a Spoon to stir it!

This class is for ages 16+

Handbuilding is a ceramics technique that allows you to create forms with clay and your hands, without using a throwing wheel. Before ceramicists invented the wheel, handbuilding was the only way they could create functional and artistic ceramic forms. While there are many techniques within the handbuilding umbrella, we will be using the slab building method to make the mugs. These mugs can then have surface elements added to them through the use of stamps and other tools! The stirring spoon will be made with a little coiling and pinching. During the event, participants will be able to choose between 5 glazes for their pieces to be dipped in for them between the bisque and glaze firings.

Completed pieces will be ready for pick up 3-4 weeks after the event.
